Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-04-20

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using emtrio, you agree to these Terms. If you're using emtrio on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.

2. What emtrio is

emtrio ingests events from your connected Stripe account and delivers filtered alerts to a Slack channel you choose, plus a daily summary email. We do not process payments, hold funds, or act as a Stripe or Slack substitute — we're a notifier layered on top of both.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to form a binding contract. emtrio is built for business use.

4. Your account

  • One account per person or organization. Provide accurate information.
  • Keep your credentials secure — you're responsible for activity under your account.
  • Notify us immediately via our Contact page if you believe your account has been compromised.

5. Subscription and billing

  • emtrio is offered on a single subscription plan at US $9.00 per month, with a 7-day free trial that requires a valid payment method on file.
  • After the trial, the subscription renews monthly until canceled. You authorize emtrio (via Stripe) to charge your payment method on each renewal.
  • You can cancel any time via Settings → Billing → Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial months.
  • We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice via email. Continuing to use the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.

6. Your connections

emtrio requires read access to your Stripe account and write access to a Slack channel to function. You're responsible for maintaining those connections. If you revoke the Stripe API key or remove the Slack bot from your workspace, we won't be able to deliver alerts, and your subscription fees remain due for the rest of the billing period.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use emtrio to violate any law or any third party's rights.
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without permission.
  • Interfere with service availability (flooding, scraping, abuse of rate limits).
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source from our software.
  • Share your account credentials with others, or use another person's account.

8. Availability

We operate emtrio on best-effort basis. We do not commit to a formal uptime SLA during this phase of the product. Planned maintenance, third-party outages (Stripe, Slack, Railway), and unforeseen incidents may interrupt delivery. We will not be liable for missed alerts caused by upstream provider outages.

9. Intellectual property

The emtrio brand, product design, and code are ours. Your Stripe events, your Slack content, and your account data remain yours. Using emtrio does not transfer ownership of your data to us.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect and how we handle it, and is incorporated into these Terms.

11. Disclaimers

emtrio is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every Stripe event will result in a delivered alert.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, emtrio and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including lost revenue, lost business, or missed payments — arising out of your use of or inability to use the service. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from these Terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold emtrio harmless from any claim arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Termination

You can terminate your account any time by canceling your subscription and emailing us to delete your data. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, Sections 9–13 and 16–18 survive.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the new Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

17. Dispute resolution

If we have a dispute, we'll try to resolve it informally first — use our Contact page. If that fails, the dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration in San Antonio, Texas, administered by a neutral arbitrator. Each party pays their own costs unless the arbitrator decides otherwise.
